Accidents can happen

Everyone thinks that accidents won't happen to them. In fact, accidents are called 'accidents' because you won't know when they might happen! Accidents can happen when you least expect it. Just like what happened to Wee Kiat.

Our friend Wee Kiat was absent from school for two days. The reason was that he fell and broke his front tooth and had to extract it at the hospital.

To sum it all, the song from Thomas & Friends "Accidents Will Happen" reminds us that we have to concentrate on what we are doing or accidents can happen just like that!

Safety messages:
DON'T TEXT AND DRIVE!

Xiu Ling

Xiu Ling is a good friend to Si Pei. She turns 17 this July. She had a stroke when she was 13. She had barely started her Secondary 1 school year when it happened. She has a shunt inserted to allow body fluid to move from one part to the other. As a result of the stroke, Xiu Ling's left part of the body was weakened. She used to be left handed but had to learn how to write with her right hand now.

Xiu Ling is bubbly and loves to joke. She is very friendly with everyone and is a sociable person. She comforts her mother when she cries. She lends her shoulder for her mother to lean on.

She has a younger brother who is studying at Secondary level. They are very close and are only a year apart.

Her favourite games are Happy Fish and King of Math on her iPad given by her uncle.

Her dream is to be physiotherapist because she encountered many dedicated physiotherapists who helped her alot to improve her condition.

Our teachers

These are our teachers, Teacher Jasmine and Teacher Yurnita. They have been our teachers for two years.

Teacher Jasmine plays the violin very well and is musically inclined. She also plays the keyboard and percussion instruments. She is like a super heroine to us because she is able to multi-task and manage work and home.

Teacher Yurnita has the ability to sign very well to communicate with the hearing impaired friends in class.

Teacher Yurnita can cook very well and her signature dishes are nasi ayam, nasi lemak and prawn noodles. She has been volunteering with the Boccia team for a few years and have travelled internationally to assist in competitions.

Recently with her coaching, Singapore National Team, won silver in Portugal for Master Championship in 2012.

We admire our teachers being working mothers and still have energy to work in a special school. It is not easy working with special needs children.

Zoe

Zoe turns 17 this year. She likes craft activities with hama beads. She likes to bake and brings food she baked to share with the class.

Zoe is the only child and lives with her parents and grandmother. She has many cousins and enjoy playing with them.

During her freetime, Zoe goes cycling with her cousins. Her bicycle has training wheels to help her balance.

Upon graduation, Zoe would like to give back to the school by coming back to volunteer.

Jing Ying is a kind and helpful person who never fails to hold the elevator for everyone. She likes Dora the Explorer.
