Bread Pudding
We made bread pudding during lifeskills today and it was a sell out!
What you need:
2 cups of milk = approx. 500ml
20 teaspoons of sugar
5 eggs (beaten)
2 teaspoons of vanilla essence
Grounded cinnamon to taste
1 large loaf of white bread
1 baking pan (We used a square one approximately 2 inches in depth)
Serves 6-8
First, we mixed the sugar, milk and eggs then vanilla essence in a bowl.
Next, we tore the bread into pieces and put them into the baking pan.
Once the bread fills up the whole baking pan, we placed the crust on the top.
Then, we poured the mixture into the pan of bread.
On the top we sprinkled grounded cinnamon and sugar.
Then we baked the bread pudding in the oven preheated at 175 degrees Celsius for 30-45 mins till it turns brown.
This was everyone's first time trying the bread pudding and we loved it. You can also add chocolate, raisins, fruits or nuts into the pudding to make it a different flavour.
Enjoy and hope you like it as much as we do.

Outing to Meridien Primary School
Hello everyone, we just came back from our outing at Meridian Primary School.
The objective of this outing is to experience what recess is like in the mainstream primary school and to purchase food and drinks from the canteen stalls.
We walked about 600m with 8 kind volunteers who spent their morning with us. When we arrived there was a friendly teacher Mr Lew who led us to the canteen. All the wonderful smiles on the students greeted us warmly. They waved enthusiastically at us too!
We made purchases at the stalls, which isn't usually the case for our snack time as we have Auntie Chew to cook for us and prepare snack. We visited the library and had some time to browse the books. There was no air-conditioning in the library but there were more books compared to our reading lounge.
There was an eco garden and playground at the school where we also visited. It was a happy experience for us. We would love to visit them again soon. Thank you for the kind hospitality!

Hail the royal baby!
Hello everyone,
After much anticipation, the royal baby has arrived! And a healthy 3.8kg baby boy! He will be the third in line to the throne after his father Duke of Cambridge and grandfather.
The baby's name is not known yet but he is the Prince of Cambridge. There are speculations that the favourite names are George and James. We are all eager to find out what the baby's name will be.
As of now, no pictures of the baby have been released to the public.
We are excited as we await more news about the baby boy, what his name will be and pictures in due time.

Recycling Skit
Last Thursday, we performed during morning assembly as part of the Clean and Green week.
We rehearsed for a week before this and presented a skit before we danced to this song.
We took a few hours to put together this video with images from the internet. mainly www.dreamstime.com and used the song '3Rs' by Jack Johnson.
Our performance wowed the audience as we danced our hearts out with self-made signs using recyclable materials by Eagle 8A. We also made percussion shakers using Yakault bottles under the guidance of Teacher Yurnita.
We did the entire performance on our own and did not require any assistance from the adults from the setting of the stage to the clearing of stage and getting the props ready.
Hope to put up more pictures soon!

School Community Involvement Project
Hi everyone,
This week, we are tasked to bring old newspapers to school for a good cause. The collected effort by the school will help to raise funds for our school programmes. If everyone brings 1kg of newspapers, we will have almost 200kg of newspapers to sell to raise funds. That can never be achieved by a single person.
This project will happen from now till Friday. If you are reading this, you are most welcomed to send your newspapers to

Accidents can happen
Everyone thinks that accidents won't happen to them. In fact, accidents are called 'accidents' because you won't know when they might happen! Accidents can happen when you least expect it. Just like what happened to Wee Kiat.
Our friend Wee Kiat was absent from school for two days. The reason was that he fell and broke his front tooth and had to extract it at the hospital.
To sum it all, the song from Thomas & Friends "Accidents Will Happen" reminds us that we have to concentrate on what we are doing or accidents can happen just like that!
Safety messages:
DON'T TEXT AND DRIVE!

Xiu Ling
Xiu Ling is a good friend to Si Pei. She turns 17 this July. She had a stroke when she was 13. She had barely started her Secondary 1 school year when it happened. She has a shunt inserted to allow body fluid to move from one part to the other. As a result of the stroke, Xiu Ling's left part of the body was weakened. She used to be left handed but had to learn how to write with her right hand now.
Xiu Ling is bubbly and loves to joke. She is very friendly with everyone and is a sociable person. She comforts her mother when she cries. She lends her shoulder for her mother to lean on.
She has a younger brother who is studying at Secondary level. They are very close and are only a year apart.
Her favourite games are Happy Fish and King of Math on her iPad given by her uncle.
Her dream is to be physiotherapist because she encountered many dedicated physiotherapists who helped her alot to improve her condition.

Our teachers
These are our teachers, Teacher Jasmine and Teacher Yurnita. They have been our teachers for two years.
Teacher Jasmine plays the violin very well and is musically inclined. She also plays the keyboard and percussion instruments. She is like a super heroine to us because she is able to multi-task and manage work and home.
Teacher Yurnita has the ability to sign very well to communicate with the hearing impaired friends in class.
Teacher Yurnita can cook very well and her signature dishes are nasi ayam, nasi lemak and prawn noodles. She has been volunteering with the Boccia team for a few years and have travelled internationally to assist in competitions.
Recently with her coaching, Singapore National Team, won silver in Portugal for Master Championship in 2012.
We admire our teachers being working mothers and still have energy to work in a special school. It is not easy working with special needs children.
